So we all know about the time honored bushpot and tripod method for campfire cooking... what about other methods? Grills, stones, spits, etc... I always debate about using even a twig stove and although my love of alcohol stoves endures I think cooking over the campfire is primal and satisfying let’s see your methods and gear (or lack there of) that is needed!

I keep two in my kit love them, great for squirrel or rabbit. I also just added the Coffey spit from a kickstarter campaign. Haven’t used it yet but Firebox’s videos make it look great. All my cookware is titanium and have bales, I make my fire irons from sticks. I carry 2 foot of chain for each pot. Counters the weight benefit of the titanium but worth it for adjustability. I use them like a trammel the chain holds 70 pounds and I bent the last links to make hooks instead of adding S-hooks. I’ll get pictures on the next outing. I can show pics in my basement if people want it.

The possum I thought was pretty good, we made it into chili. It tasted sort of like pork tenderloin with the texture of pork belly. I liked the raccoon better. What do you think @Strigidae or @BigJake or @Patrick Rollins? Thoughts on the possum.

Directly over coals and swamp grills are my personal favorite ways to cook. I’m digging the Solo Stove pretty well too.

I don't know if I could bring myself to eat possum. Everytime I see them I just think they're the most disgusting animal on the face of the earth. Gag reflex kicks in big time... o_O

The steaming method @bearthedog showed in another thread ive been practicing a lot lately. Its super awesome. Ive done it over coals or hung with pot hangers over the fire and both work. Cooks fish very fast.

Pics from the first test at the house but i hit it out of the park yesterday in the woods with a salmon chunk coated (a lot a lot) of red eyed hog seasoning on top of cedar sprigs on top of cedar chunks and water.

Great to see some Dutch ovens make the content! Everything looks delicious!

How is the efficiency on the solo stove. I love cooking over coals makes everything better in my mind. I really need to get some of your spices they make things look tasty so I can imagine the taste!

Great pictures! What are you using to suspend your pot?
