What I remember reading was that it was legal to have a still until you put mash in it.

There is a ethanol plant down the road from my work, one of the guys that run the place brings his truck to us. He offered us a tour and was telling us about the plant. They have to mix the ethanol with gas before they ship it in order to pay the lower fuel tax instead of the alcohol tax.

Would you use seeds as currency or the produce they create?

OK, I'll play for a bit. I doubt that any of us are going to witness TEOTWAWKI but here goes.
    1) If I have any extra ammo it will be the absolute last thing that I barter with. If things go south and people get desperate I am not going to give them something that they could use against me and mine. Plus if I have the ammo I get to set the trade conditions. :D

    2) Cigs and booze while nice to have for those that use them will go by the way side after a period of time( in my opinion) as they get harder to come by the effort to acquire them will not be worth the reward.

    3) I agree with most of Bushmans list BUT, i would swap Aleve or Advil instead of Tylenol, Acetaminophen is tough on the liver, even more so if you are drinking.

4)Hand tools of any kind, Hammers, Saws, shovels, Knives etc. will be worth more than money . Again my opinion

    5) skills of all kinds will go a long way. Think of all of the snowflakes and millennial's that can't change a tire or harvest wild game or cook for them selves. When things break down and they have to fend for them selves the ability to sew or repair objects or even light a fire will be in demand. These are all things that most of us take for granted ,a large portion of the population will become nearly useless when they have to find a way to survive.

    6) Cordage, thread, buttons, buckles and Bolts of fabric will bring a premium, ( no body wants to run around nekid, OK most people ,I forgot who i was talking to)o_O

    7) Self help type books, farming, building, first aid, plants, Animal husbandry and the like will all be in demand as things progress. I would have to give this some more thought but that is a start.

I'm sticking with hookers. But I'm increasing the number to two dozen.

Good idea, you would not want to needlessly tire any of them out,

I get that, people aren’t always the most fun to be around. Now I’ve never had a bad time around trees or dogs just saying...
