Last April, a crew of us spent 7 days riding about 250 miles through the San Rafael Swell in Utah - a 4-day loop south of I-70 followed by a quick resupply and then another 3-day loop in the northern part of the Swell. Really fun trip and a great little corner of the world to explore. I'll let the pics tell the rest of the story...

Actually putting the final touches on a 4-day class in the Dixie National Forest around Barker / Posey then ending with a slot canyon in Escalante. Will be about a 45 mile trek teaching bushcraft / survival skills each evening, as well as fishing the lakes. Patrick, Jed and Aaron are working out the details now and we still have to file the special use permit with BLM but should be a fun experience once we get everything worked out.

This is my backcountry touring bike - a Surly 'ECR' with 29+ tires on it (which I'm totally sold on for this kind of trip):

My wife rode an Advocate 'Watchman' with 27.5+ tires:

Super G rode a Salsa 'Ti Mukluk' with 27.5+ tires:

and Billy rode a carbon Salsa "Beargrease" fat bike with 29+ wheels:

Feel free to ask about any specifics if there are certain things you are interested in. All in all, we were all really pleased with how these bikes performed on varied terrain. And not a single mechanical or flat the entire trip!

@Hammer I can appreciate the Salsa love.

Here's my Vaya loaded up for a long day ride on gravel. I've since swapped to Panaracer Gravel Kings.

I'm still thinking of adding a 27.5+ to the stable.

Nice - it's good to see dirty, well-used bikes!
