in my county in Missouri we get one firearms tag to take either buck or doe, and two archery tags to take two does or one of each buck/doe.

Grew up in Alabama. Hunted the black belt area growing up. We could kill a buck and doe every day all season...for 2 1/2 months.

    One extreme to another.

Got a doe today. I'm glad to get some meat, but had a missed opportunity on a great 9 point this morning that about made me loose my cool. This has been a hard season. Just can't get a chance. I'm hoping late season brings one into food. I'm gonna have a few more beers. I'll report back tomorrow.

Slocked a small cow elk this morning on an over the counter depredation tag.

Called it with a primos hot dog (coyote call) that makes some loud and sweet elk sounds if you know how to do it.

Thing ran in to 25 yards, I popped around and ended up shooting it at about 45. Happened so fast.

Pse Full Throttle, shooting gold tip velocity's and old school rocket steelheads.

    My first cow elk.

    Good stuff guys.

@IW17 it is certainly frustrating I know.

@HEADACHE congrats man I’ve never had the chance to try elk, dying to get a piece eventually.

Well I ended the week with two does. Had a decent ten point come in the same place the nine point came in the day before. He just wasn't big enough. Nice deer, but needs a year or two to grow. If nothing else I got my cardio in. Damn did we do some walking. But it was a good week. I definitely needed the time off work. I'll be back in two weeks. I'm staying home with my better half this weekend and making up for only taking two weekends off since season started. But then it's back to business!

First Buck and unless some kind of monster steps out there, he'll be my last for the season. I don't want to stock up on too much meat and have no room for next season.

No no! This time, I must have found a lost circus Deer. All I did was ask him to lay down and he climbed right in.
