Its a lot bigger than it looks in photos.......i expected it to be the same size as the regular Esee firekit.....(diameter).

this thing is a beast. My largest firesteel kit (Sam Wilson) < <<< (and that kit is a BEAST!) is smaller than the Esee Advanced FireKit.

I had an Esee 3HM as soon as they brought out the kydex sheath for them . Although I must say.... I’d like the handle to be about a mm thicker on each side for my XL hands, the esee 3hm is one that has haunted me since I sold it.

With the thinner (but very tough) stock of the 3, full tang, palm length blade, the perceivably bigger belly/ constant curve up to the point, and the 55-57hrc which is field serviceable with just a ceramic rod and leather belt, this knife checks almost every box...

Not long ago I ordered a couple of First Lite Duffles to replace some gear from other companies that were: 1. Claimed by other family members and 2. Loaned to a friend and lost by an airline.

I chose the First Lite Duffles because I'm increasingly trying to be very careful what companies I give money to.

https://www.firstlite.com/collections/dirtbag-duffles/products/dirtbag-duffle-medium

They come in one color and three sizes.

Positives:
I've taken them on several trips now...

Since my love for knives and their usage, I decided to do a website with review blogs. I haven't got it finished or linked yet. When I get it finished and you have a knife that I can review and or do some comparisons with similar knives, please let me know. If you've already done a review and want it shared, lets discuss how to post it up.

I was able to grab a really cool domain called "This Old Knife".

Genesis. If you're reading this you know what that is. I don't have to say "knife" or "LT Wright" because the name Genesis is synonymous with the quintessential bushcraft blade. You might own one - I certainly do - and it's because of that knife I'm doing this review. But this is not an article about the Genesis, it's the Illuminous 5 I'm writing about....

Today I want to discuss the Real Steel Bushcraft Plus Survival knife. While the name seems to be a bit of a contradiction - "bushcraft" and "survival" are typically considered two different things - the knife itself makes more sense when you get it in your hands. Before talking about how it performs let me give you some spec's...

Steel: Sandvik 14C28N
Total length: 9.5"
Weight: 6.5 ounces
Blade length: 4.5"
Blade thickness: 4.5mm
Handle length: 5.0"
Handle material: G10, black...
