      <content:encoded><![CDATA[Adding a National Park to the roundup. <br />
Commencing May 20-27 we are visiting Voyageur National Park. <br />
Should be good fishing and cruising/exploring  the the Lakes.<br />
Buddy is bringing his Lund fishing boat.<br />
After that it is a few days at Split Rock State Park Shipwreck Creek Campground and then a week in Grand Marais on Lake Superior. <br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[Was out for a tarp overnighter in the woods just over the Belgium border. Weather forecast gave off loads of rain so prepared for the worst.<br />
Packed my &#039;new to me&#039; backpack, a surplus Alpine Sting. This thing has so many adjustment points it&#039;s a perfect fit to me. Had a very heavy load, about 22kg, a proper test for the buckle I repaired with a Sea2summit field repair buckle. (It held up just fine).<br />
Also brought a new sleeping bag, rated to 0 degrees Celsius / 32 F.  The night was going to be...<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[I intend to take a trip THE JACK REACHER STYLE, I repeat, I will not try to BE A JACK REACHER, I will take a trip THE JACK REACHER STYLE and that will be limited to simply traveling with THE MINIMUM POSSIBLE and this trip will be by bus. Therefore, it is obvious that I would not be able to travel with just the clothes on my back, an ATM card, a toothbrush and an ID.<br />

Lots to do in the area including hiking, kayaking backwoods driving, eating and shopping. <br />
Buddy and I took the guided walk tour under the Gorge Bridge. <br />
We stayed at at the Outpost  Campground. <br />
Lots of options for tents, cabins and RVs. <br />
Following the Gorge visit we went to Lexington, VA, 130 miles north. <br />
Celebrated Halloween and visited the Stonewall Jackson Cemetary, and Washington Lee University. <br />

I like going there spring, fall and winter, and staying away during the high season. <br />
Took our lunch drove part of Cades Cove Loop. Spotted one bear. <br />
Townsend has two Visitor Centers worth visiting and a couple new retailers have opened since I was there last. <br />
Jeeps and Sasquatch.

Yesterday was beautiful when I got off work at 4:30pm. Crystal clear skies, low humidity, right at 70°F in the sun. Way too pretty to spend all evening in the gym as I try to do on Tuesday and Thursday evenings (trying to not die at 50.)<br />

Headed out Thursday (over a week ago) Morning and back on Saturday.  Its a spot about three hours travel for us both....South West for him North West for me.<br />
