I'm honestly not a fan of the Jason Knight designs, but that one looks alright.

I cashed out some vacation time for extra spending money for our Duluth trip but this thread keeps pulling me back in.

Just joined the club. This beauty feels great in the hand. More to come after I've had some woods time with it...

The Field knife is probably about comparable to a 6, the regular Belt knife is more along the lines of a 4 or slightly bigger.
That one you quoted is a SD1, which is designed as an EDC, so it’s scaled down from his other designs.

Here's a 6 next to the Belt Knife for an idea of size:

And here's a Field Knife and Belt knife side by side, for reference.

I saw that and it's a sweet looking knife! Someone really needs to grab that asap.

But I decided I really want a drop point in this smaller EDC blade, and I want matching a handle with my belt knife.

I got a Winkler Woodsman today - and I really love it. I think it´s a great knife for EDC, Hiking, Self Defence, Camping etc.... But.... (please don't kill me for that...) I am really not that impressed with the sheath. Yep, the retention is just GREAT. Love that. But the sheath seams to be a bit bulky and for vertical carry it sits to high, for horizontal (cross draw) it´s too bulky (for me).. How do you carry your Winklers for EDC etc. when you want to have it concealed?

I absolutely love high ride sheaths, vertical at about 3:30 to 4 o'clock. They catch on less things and tend to ride nice and discreetly under an over shirt. They also make for a nice, positive one hand draw.

I carry a number of blades this way, so long as I'm not wearing a pack belt. Everything from my Winkler Belt knife, Operator, to my Spartan Blades Difensa, all carried high ride vertically on my belt.

Theoretically, you could make a drop loop with some leather. Use the included leather belt loop as a base, and run a strip of leather through it, up and down, as a belt loop. Doesn't even need stitching, just a single Chicago screw (could even use one of the spare included screws for that). I could likely demonstrate once I can get to my shop.
