9FB643FD-CC66-43A7-9BDE-02A4A74B1DBB.jpeg I would like to start a thread dedicated to range toys, pistols that are particularly suited to punching paper or toppling steel plates. After Retirement, I moved to a location that only gives me easy access to a pistol only range, therefore my renewed interest in shooting steel plates. I will never be as good as I once was but today I shot a particularly good time, for me, of 3.8 seconds. Course: Six 8” plates at 10 yards. Possibly due to a reacquired Model 14 S&W which has a much better trigger.

Anyway here are my current favorites:

My biggest gun regret is not buying a 2 3/4” Mdl 66 when we sold them off years ago. Nice specimen you have there.

    Other neat guns would be a Ruger 2 3/4” Speed Six or a S&W Mdl 65 3”

All of the above.....!!!!!! I have always thought the 2.5 19/66 was an absolute thing of beauty !!! The early ones (P&R) that much more so !!! And those grips go with it like a bikini goes with my Buddy Elle McPherson... !!!!!!!

My issue for many years was a 3inch (light, not the FBI type heavy) square butt M10. So started my love of those barrel lengths under 4 inches !!
